On the 5th of April 2005 SOTRALENTZ organized the dispatch of the largest part which has ever been machined in its workshops.
With a diameter of 8,70 m and a weight of 100 tonnes, this gear-box of a tunnel boring head has blocked the A4 motorway temporaryly.
This part is an element of the giant tunnel boring machine intended to dig a 3,6 km length road tunnel of a diameter of 13,45 m for the construction of the M30 motorway in Madrid.
