Some history
At the start of the seventies, which saw the merger of the companies Lentz and Sotral and of the activities of heavy metal work and welded wire mesh, there appeared a rapidly expanding market: plastics. From 1972, Sotralentz decided to use the resources of this innovative material and to add a new plastics division to the metals sector. The huge industrial potential of this material allowed a rapid diversification of products (manufacture of plastic jerrycans, drums, containers, fuel oil tanks, septic tanks and also film and plastic bags) and led to a specialisation in two distinct trades: habitat (go to part 04.01) and packaging. The lightness and ergonomic nature of plastic allowed the development of more and more efficient products adapted to specific requirements. Moreover, Sotralentz actively participates in the development of new safety standards: Sotralentz packaging products always comply and often exceed regulation requirements and are designed to be able to adapt to all means of transport. True to its culture of service that it has adhered to since its beginnings, the company has a constant capacity for innovation. The pioneering spirit of Sotralentz gave birth in 1980 to the first 1,000 litre container protected by wire mesh (wire mesh developed by Sotralentz Construction > go to part 07). The advantages of this modular container that can be entirely disassembled are recognised throughout the world by all producers of liquid chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products. Today, Sotralentz is one of the leaders for this product in France.
